Mario Weitz Schneir is the General Manager of Consulta Abierta, a company that empowers and prepares managers in Spain, the rest of Europe, and Latin America. It offers managers and businessmen instruction and training in the fields of Economics and Foreign Trade. Its funds are in most cases from the World Bank, the EU, and private or public companies.
Mario holds a Master’s in Applied Economics and a PhD in Economics from the American University in Washington, D.C., USA and has almost 40 years of professional experience under his belt. He has been the Director of Ferrocarriles Argentinos, a member of the Board of the International Monetary Fund, an advisor to several multinational companies, and a consultant to both the European Commission and the World Bank, in addition to his current post. He has also been an ESIC Professor of International Economics since 2016, as well as a Professor of Economics in several master’s programmes since 1998, including at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, Spain.
His accomplishments further include a great variety of published articles on economic topics in magazines and press in both Latin America and Spain. He is also a columnist in several important Spanish newspapers, such as ABC, El Economista and Expansion, writing under the topic of International Economics. His conferences on International Economics boast 20.000 followers on LinkedIn and he is listed as an important European economist on Wikipedia in Spanish.
