Riccardo Viaggi, as the CECE Secretary General, represents the construction equipment sector towards the EU institutions and manages the association’s Brussels office.
Riccardo Viaggi is an experienced EU governmental affairs professional, who served eight years as the Secretary General of EBC, the European Builders Confederation. In this function, he represented European construction micro, small and medium-sized enterprises from the 20 affiliates and partners of EBC in Brussels.
He sat within relevant European associations such as the European SME association UEAPME and Small Business Standards (SBS), and represented construction SMEs in other stakeholder bodies including the European Standing Committee for Construction and the European Social Dialogue Committee for Construction.
Before covering this function, he was in charge of European projects for EBC. During two years as project manager, he initiated several successful project initiatives in areas including energy efficiency and renewable sources, social dialogue, and youth mobility.
He earned his Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Bologna in March 2006, after completing studies in Switzerland, France, and the United States. In addition to Italian, Riccardo speaks English, French, and Spanish fluently.
