The EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement

After intense negotiations, on 24th December 2020 the European Commission and the United Kingdom reached an agreement on the terms of their future relationship.

The new EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) delivers duty- and quota-free trade. However, in order to qualify for beneficial treatment the exports must meet stringent rules of originmeaning that products must be wholly obtained from or manufactured in the EU or the UK, or sufficiently worked or processed there, and this applies also to construction equipment

European exporters & importers can check specific product rules on the “My Trade Assistant” tool of the EU Commission trade portal by using their product HS code (for construction equipment see HS Chapter beginning with 84)

UK exporters/importers can find information here.

Further information on the TCA can be found here
