Laurence Delplace
Amberg Engineering, Regional Manager
Laurence has been working in the tunnelling industry since she graduated from the Swiss Institute of Technology in Lausanne. Her passion for this industry goes back to when she was a child. Her first tunnel experience was following her father working on the Channel Tunnel. This project has fascinated her for as long as she can remember.
Her first role was at Herrenknecht, in Germany, the world's leading manufacturer of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs). Driven by her desire to broaden her expertise, Laurence then joined Amberg Engineering, a Swiss-based engineering office specialised in tunnelling and underground space, where she was able to accelerate her career from Project Engineer to her current position as Head of Operations for Belgium and France. She leads a team of talented engineers in France, supervises multiple metro projects in France and Belgium, and is responsible for sales in those two same countries.
Active in the International Tunnelling Association (ITA), she leads an international group of experts to develop new recommendations in the field of mechanized tunnelling.
Laurence is very passionate about the tunnelling industry and very proud of her significant contributions to the industry since the early days of her career.
