I am Alex Roca Campillo, when I was 6 months old I suffered from herpetic viral encephalitis (cerebral herpes). It caused cerebral palsy with 76% physical disability which affects the left hemisphere of my body. I have reduced mobility and I communicate through sign language.

The doctors said I wouldn't live and they are hallucinating because I am alive. In my life I have had many barriers and I have jumped over them as best I could and with a lot of effort. Currently, I have studies, a job, a car, a partner and a "normal" life.

For me, sport is very important in my daily life, because I see it as a lifestyle to improve myself. I believe that no one can set limits for you, but that you set the limits yourself. Each one being the owner of his destiny and his possibilities.

I participated in the TITAN DESERT 2018 and finished the PILGRIM RACE 2018. Later I was able to fulfill one of my biggest dreams: Finish TITAN DESERT 2019, being the first person with cerebral palsy to finish it. In addition, I have managed to complete 5 triathlons, 1 aquathlon and 11 Half Marathons (Barcelona 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024, New York 2022, Miami 2022 and 2024, Granollers 2023, London, Milan and Madrid 2024) I am also the first person in the world with a 76% physical disability to finish a Marathon.

Apart from sports, I really enjoy giving talks and showing society that you set the limit yourself, and at the same time raising awareness and bringing society closer to disability. I don't like that word at all, I like to see that we are people with different abilities and we like to be treated like others.
